Project 3 focuses on the contextualization of neurology behind music. I love music but, I wanted to research how does music affects your brain. In a personal context, I listen to music every day at any time I can.
ArtI made track loops that are put into a different context for each of them:
https://soundcloud.com/taylor-brooks-468550638 After I made the loops I explained the reasoning behind why I made them. Here's a few that I made: “BACK IN THE DAY” Reasoning I made this one the way that I did because It reminded me of my dad. Every Saturday evening there is always a time where we turn the hip-hop channel on XM. So I used my personal experience to help me make this piece. This is important because this gives my dad and me time to bond. Calm, Cool, Collected Reasoning I made this for the students who have a hard time coping with stress. I’ve been having lots of trouble focusing lately so I found myself often times listening to songs with a lower bpm count like classical music and even this track that I made. Para Mi Madre: I did this one because rarely when she puts on House she says that she likes the way this made her feel. What she was feeling was the neurotransmitter called, dopamine. This made her energized to do wanted she wanted to do. I made this because I want my mom to do anything that she wants because of what I think she deserves. |
S.I.T.M.WI made an Infographic. I first explained the different parts of the brain that reacts to music and then I explained the Limbic system, Reward system and different types of neurotransmitters.

EnglishI wrote a draft thesis paper about my findings on Music. My main points are the enjoyment in music, the freedom of expression that music has and how music helps us in society.
